Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. This is a challenging position offering the opportunity to work with leading edge sensor technologies embedded in smartphones, IoT, smartwatches and other consumer electronics devices. Job activities span the whole product life cycle from early R&D to commercial deployment. The successful candidate will work with systems, software, and integration/test engineers in the QTI sensors group and in related QTI teams. Job responsibilities include:
Prototyping new sensor feature, including both the software and physical components.
Test and analysis of prototype sensor systems.
Data collection and analysis with sensor systems. This includes design and development of test instruments and software tools.
Developing sensor algorithms in high level languages (Matlab, Python), including validating the performance of the algorithms.
In conjunction with Sensor Software Engineers, implementing algorithms to run, in C, on ARM processors and Qualcomm DSPs, including the implementation of algorithms in fixed point.
Making effective engineering tradeoffs among performance, memory, power consumption, and computational complexity.
Writing reports on algorithm evaluation results and delivering design documentation. The position is technology focused and involves participation in a broad range of sensors systems engineering activities within the Sensors Technologies Group

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
2+ years Systems Engineering or related work experience.
Experience with embedded systems
Experience with laboratory measurement and analysis
Proficiency in MATLAB or Python
Experience with the construction of prototype hardware and software
Proficiency in C, including the ability to implement algorithms in fixed point.
Experience developing Android applications, particularly ones using device hardware APIs.
An understanding of inertial sensor processing for accelerometers, gyroscopes, magnetometers, etc.
Experience in comparing C vs. MATLAB or Python results and resolving differences.
Time series, signal processing experience
Required: Bachelor's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
Preferred: Master's or equivalent experience
