As a Qualcomm Field Application Engineer, you will provide highly visible customer support through the design, development, and adoption of products. Qualcomm Engineers collaborate with cross-functional groups, external customers, and partners to determine the quality, applicability, and definition of products and inform the Business Units responsible for delivery of those products.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 8+ years of Field Application Engineering or related work experience for Automotive SoC.

• 3+ years of experience in Automotive SoC engineering areas such as hardware design, systems design, software programming, etc.

• 3+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization.

• 2+ years of experience in a sales, marketing or customer-facing role.

• 1+ year of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Director level and above).

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Leverages advanced Field Application Engineering knowledge and experience to provide highly visible customer support through the design, development, and adoption of products (e.g., hardware, software, IOT, etc.).

• Serves as company liaison on critical administrative/technical matters and instructs customers on the design, development, selection, and use of advanced system architectures and equipment.

• Collects, addresses, and informs Automotive Business Units of critical feedback from customers regarding the quality, applicability, and definition of products.

• Collaborates with cross functional teams (e.g., sales team, etc.) in assessing the application of company products to meet customer needs, preparing product specifications for the development and implementation of critical customer applications/solutions, and achieving annual sales targets for designated products and solutions.

• Develops and delivers complicated or specialized product presentations and delivers demo for customers and partners.

Level of Responsibility:

• Works independently with minimal supervision.

• Provides supervision/guidance to other team members.

• Decision-making is significant in nature and affects work beyond immediate work group.

• Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey information. May require basic negotiation, influence, tact, etc.

• Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions.

• Tasks do not have defined steps; planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field and 4+ years of Field Application Engineering or related work experience.

OR

Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field and 3+ years of Field Application Engineering or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field and 2+ years of Field Application Engineering or related work experience.
