As a Qualcomm Hardware Application Engineer, you will provide technical expertise of hardware through trainings, product demonstrations, and the design, debug, test, and quality support of customer products. Qualcomm Hardware Application Engineers collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess the potential application of company products that meet and exceed customer needs.
Job Description:
Audio codec and speaker amplifier HW schematic and layout review for Laptop/Tablet.
Solid knowledge of analog audio circuit and digital interfaces such I2S, Soundwire, PDM, TDM and etc.
Support speaker modeling and audio performance measurement.
Application note and technical memo publishing.
Training provide.
Skills/Experience:
3 years above in x86 laptop/mobile/tablet industrial.
Experience in ARM based audio HW system design.
Familiar with codec & speaker amplifier analog and digital audio circuit.
Familiar with Audio precision and Klippel equipment.
Familiarity with layout tool like Allegro and Power PCB.
Familiar with Audio processing algorithm and audio tuning are plus.
Mobile industry experience, laptop OEMs, tablet production line.
Understanding of high-speed digital interfaces such as USB, PCIE, DP,MIPI are plus.
Additional Skills:
Good communication in both Chinese and English - The candidate is a good team builder with excellent people skills and used to operating in networked and virtual team environments.
Natural self-starter, self-motivated, independent, and resourceful problem solver.
Outstanding oral and written communication skills capable of presenting persuasively to all levels of the organization in an articulate and succinct manner. Active listening ability.
High intention in engineering and technical analysis. - The candidate is a mature person able to establish relationships to build credibility and influence at all levels of the organization in appropriate manners.
He/She is a team player and has an easy-to-work-with attitude.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience or related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience or related work experience.
• 1+ year of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Leverages advanced Hardware Application knowledge and experience to provide technical expertise of hardware through trainings, product demonstrations, and the design, debug, test, and quality support of customer products that are based on Qualcomm chips.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams and customer personnel in assessing potential application of company products, preparing detailed product specifications, disseminating technical information on specific hardware areas, and/or troubleshooting issues regarding hardware tools and products.
• Owns support for a technology and/or chipset area and recommends appropriate modifications and enhancements in light of customer needs.
• Proactively identifies customer problems and recommends innovative solutions.
• Writes detailed technical documentation for complex Hardware Application projects.
Level of Responsibility:
• Works independently with minimal supervision.
• Provides supervision/guidance to other team members.
• Decision-making is critical in nature and highly impacts program, product, or project success.
• Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information. May require negotiation, influence, tact, etc.
• Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions.
• Tasks do not have defined steps; planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.
