General Summary:

We are looking for a storage & backup engineer with intermediate experience in building and deploying large scale storage infrastructure for NetApp and Dell Technologies, capacity planning and also responsible for large scale data migration of TB’s & PB’s of data. You need to have had involvement and been responsible for data backup & recovery solutions like snapmirror, Cohesity, Veeam and other similar DR solutions.

In this role, you should have a background in data management and be passionate about storage, data protection and automation. We're looking for people who are upbeat and enthusiastic about IT, data and our company to help us guard the company's data!

You will interact with multiple business partners across IT, Business, Engineering, Security, DBA and networking both in region and globally so strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preferred intermediate Linux skills and experience of managing NAS and SAN environments

  • Onboard multiple data sources to our data protection solutions and making sure agreed data retention policies are met

  • Experience and Knowledge in multiple Windows, UNIX and/or Linux operating systems

  • This job will work primarily on our NAS storage environments with responsibilities including: - Troubleshoot performance and availability issues as they arise and Storage Capacity Planning

  • Monitoring status of backups on daily basis and troubleshooting client failures

  • Work with key business partners to gather requirements and ensure their services are fully protected

  • Design of new storage arrays per customer requirement and IT standards

  • Provision of storage to our business partners

  • Manage and Handle permissions and data access requests, troubleshoot related issues

  • Handle unplanned storage outages for rapid service-restoration with solid communications to customers and management

  • Ensure data is protected via on-line and off-line backups & snapshots

  • Be a vigilant steward of data integrity and availability, handling both tactical issues and suggesting strategies to improve these areas

  • Provide regular reports to management on health of global storage environment

  • Strong communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment who can interact with the technical and non-technical peers, management, and customers.

  • Candidates should have a strong sense of ownership and enjoy problem solving opportunities.

Level of Responsibility:

  • Working under some supervision.

  • Making decisions that are moderate in impact; errors may have relatively minor financial impact or effect on projects, operations, or customer relationships; errors may require involvement beyond immediate work group to correct.

  • Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey information that may be somewhat complex to others who may have limited knowledge of the subject in question.

  • Most tasks require multiple steps that can be performed in various orders; some planning and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively; mistakes may result in some rework.

  • Deductive and inductive problem solving is required; multiple approaches may be taken/necessary to solve the problem; often information is missing or incomplete; intermediate data analysis/interpretation skills may be required.

  • Exercising creativity to draft original documents, imagery, or work products within established guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3+ years of IT-related work experience with a Bachelor's degree.

OR

5+ years of IT-related work experience without a Bachelor's degree.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 20 lbs.
