Qualcomm Baseband Hardware Engineer in Shanghai, China

General Summary:

  • 36 years’ design experience at mobile phone device level.

  • Familiar with high level system architecture. Understand how each block works, how clock net distributes over the system, has good knowledge of popular interface such as DDR, MIPI, USB etc.

  • Deeply understand one of high-speed bus from protocol and PHY layer is plus.

  • Good knowledge of mobile device peripheral -- Display, Camera, Sensors etc. Familiar with their design rules as well.

  • Hands on debug experience is important.

  • Familiar with Schematic/PCB and CAD tools --Xpedition, Cadence and PADS.

  • Good communication (written and verbal) skills in both English and Chinese is a must.

  • Experience of Qualcomm chipset design is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • This is an engineer or senior engineer level position

  • This position is part of QCOM reference design hardware team.

  • Responsible for Qualcomm chipset reference design, mainly focus on MSM (ASIC) and peripheral section.

  • Responsible for board/device level solution evaluation, key component selection. Complete schematic design after solution lockdown.

  • Work with silicon designer and CAD team to define layout rules of critical nets (clock, DDR, MIPI etc.) and deliver high quality layout.

  • Work with software team to bring up proto, enable device function (DDR, display, camera, USB etc.) and support trouble shooting.

  • Capable to deliver lesson learn and improve design continuously.

  • We encourage employee of this position build technical expertise both horizontally and vertically and be capable to work closely with MSM design team with valuable input.
