As a Qualcomm Software Engineer, you will design, develop, create, modify, and validate embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and/or specialized utility programs that launch cutting-edge, world class products that meet and exceed customer needs. Qualcomm Software Engineers collaborate with systems, hardware, architecture, test engineers, and other teams to design system-level software solutions and obtain information on performance requirements and interfaces.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

• 2+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Develop framework/driver which enables Qualcomm computer vision hardware engine on Auto chipsets. Optimize existing CV software which runs on Qualcomm Auto chipset and hardware to improve performance and reliability. Create ASIL-B level software which is safety certified for ADAS/AD products.

The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Working with global CV team closely and lead a sub function area.

  • Working with minimum supervision.

  • Taking responsibility for own work and making decisions with limited impact; impact of decisions is readily apparent; errors made typically only impact timeline (i.e., require additional time to correct).

  • Using verbal and written communication skills to convey basic, routine factual information about day-to-day activities to others who are fully knowledgeable in the subject area.

  • Completing most tasks with multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; some planning and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively; mistakes may result in some rework.

  • Exercising creativity to draft original documents, imagery, or work products within established guidelines.

  • Problem solving skill is required, generally in the nature of troubleshooting simple processes or technology.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION

  • 5+ years of Embedded Software Engineering or related work experience.

  • Master’s degree with experience in the field of Multimedia or Image Processing is preferred.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.

  • Solid experience with C/C++ is a must.

  • Knowledge and experience with embedded software development is a must.

  • Knowledge and experience with Video/Imaging is preferred.

  • Knowledge and experience multimedia driver development is preferred.

  • Experience/knowledge of OpenCV, OpenVX, Embedded Real Time systems/RTOS is useful.

  • Knowledge and experience with ASPICE are useful.

  • Good communication and writing skills in English.

  • Good sense of responsibility and teamwork.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelors - Computer Science, Bachelors - Engineering, Bachelors - Information Systems

  • 3+ years of Embedded Software Engineering or related work experience

  • 2+ years’ experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Python, etc.
