Qualcomm designs the most advanced radio technology in the commercial wireless marketplace, from LTE to Connectivity, and our RF/Analog IC Design Team is actively seeking several experienced RFIC/RFFE IC designers with Senior, Staff and Sr. Staff Engineer experience levels with demonstrated experience in the latest designs and design tools.

  • Define, design and develop complex high performance radio frequency integrated circuits for discrete RFIC’s, Radio Frequency Front End (RFFE) circuits and SoC’s.

  • The selected candidate should have experience in RFIC design of high-power amplifier (PA) to be used as stand-alone circuits, RFFE modules, RFA Transceivers or SoC’s.

  • Perform circuit topology analysis and integration of the RFIC in the RFFE modules, RFA Transceivers and SoC’s

  • A strong knowledge on power amplifier design, RF IC design, smith chart utilization, Electro Magnetic (EM) simulation and transmitter specifications is required.

  • Knowledge on PA optimized process technology (SiGe, GaAs HBT, CMOS, RFSOI LDMOS…) and its PDK and thermal simulation is a plus

  • The ideal candidate would also have a good understanding of best power amplifier or transmitter test practices and debug skills in the lab.

Requirements

We will also consider candidates with 3+ years experience with designing RF/Analog circuits for wireless products (e.g., PA, RF driver amplifier) paired with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering as a minimum qualification in lieu of a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Masters - Electrical Engineering

Work Experiences:

2+ years Power Amplifier design on RFIC or related work experience.

2+ years ASIC/RF design, verification, or related work experience.

2+ years of academic or professional experience using two or more of the following software: ADS, CADENCE Virtuoso, EM simulator, Thermal simulator

Preferred Qualifications

Education:

Work Experiences:

2+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization.

Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with internship or publication

3+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Design of RFIC power amplifier, transmitter RF/Analog circuits

Product experience from conception, design, characterization and product commercialization

Electro Magnetic (EM) or Thermal simulation with a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering

1+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Director level and above).
