General Summary:

Qualcomm is looking for an experienced Chipset Power System Engineer who is passionate in solving power challenges and develop innovative solutions for optimizing power for next generation Snapdragon chipsets of various platforms in applicator processor, modem, automotive, AR/XR, compute and machine learning.

The engineer is expected to work with cross-functional engineering teams to model SOC/chipset power and come up with innovative solutions to optimize hardware and software to enhance SOC and chipset and achieve world-class chipset low power consumption.

In this position, the engineer will be involved in all stages of the design and development cycles guiding the power-efficient design of the end-end solution with specific emphasis in the SoC infrastructure.

Ideal candidates should have strong SoC infrastructure architecture skills, as well as exposure to memory system concepts like DRAM controllers, cache controllers and interconnects. Experience with high-performance, low power micro-architecture concepts is a plus. Ideal candidates should be self-starters, have excellent communication skills and have the ability to work with a multi-disciplinary group.

Responsibilities include:

-- Pre-silicon chipset and system level power modeling, tradeoff analysis and evaluating power saving features for SOC, chipset and platform solutions.

-- Post-Silicon power measurement correlation and power model calibration.

-- Participate & actively work on the definition of System-on-chip (SoC) interconnect power budgets in collaboration with highly skilled experts across different teams (Architecture, Hardware, software, verification, emulation, ...) and locations

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent field is required as a minimum. Knowledge or experience in the following areas is preferred.

-- Experience working with power analysis, optimization or modeling at a detailed level.

-- Knowledge of SOC architecture, SOC power, or power management techniques.

-- Knowledge on hardware and software factors affecting SOC power. (power impact from use cases, architectures, power saving features, firmware/software algorithms, operating frequency and voltage modes)

-- Knowledge of memory system concepts like DRAM controllers, cache controllers and interconnects
