General Summary:

As part of Qualcomm’s PPAT software power team, you will have the opportunity to learn and work on everything power – software and hardware architecture for power, measurement, debugging, analysis, optimization of power dashboard KPIs, and commercializing best in class SOC power.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 5+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background or good understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, software programming

  • Telecommunications systems and design concepts

  • Familiarity with NR and LTE protocol: Physical/MAC layers and Call Processing concepts.

  • Data protocol stacks such as TCP/IPV6 and IP telephony

  • Experience with commercial call box solutions such as: Keysight, R&S, and Anritsu for wireless telephony product verification

  • Communication skills, team player, able to work independently.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build a strong knowledge of power software system design, and cutting-edge power-saving techniques

  • Plan and de-risk new power features in pre-si (emulation) phase

  • Profile power DB KPIs in post-si phase along with their debug, analysis, and optimizations.

  • This position will be focused on UE modem power, and will require candidates to work on next-generation wireless technologies (5G NR and LTE Advanced), participating in modem KPI development, enabling, and performing test/measurement

  • Candidate will be responsible for debugging and analyzing issues and driving closure of those issues to meet commercialization targets

  • Perform trade-offs between software alternatives by creating and performing software prototypes and experiments.

  • Establish correlation between measured power and model estimates for all the SOC IPs and investigate gaps.

  • Contribute to debug/analysis tools and automation software
