General Summary

Qualcomm has an opening for an experienced Power Management Hardware Applications Engineer. This team is directly responsible for the successful system integration and commercialization of our Power Management Integrated Circuits (PMICs) in smartphones, tablets, notebooks, automotive and a variety of cutting-edge consumer electronics. Our PMICs include voltage regulators such as LDOs and SMPSs, battery chargers, battery fuel gauging, crystal oscillators, precision references, display backlighting and haptics.

This position includes work in all phases of a product design cycle from authoring technical documentation, working closely with partners and customers of Qualcomm to define products, hosting technical training, system design and integration, customer queries, PCB level schematic and layout reviews, board bring ups, and production issues. This individual will also work closely with cross function teams in Qualcomm, including IC design engineering, systems engineering, ATE test teams, SW teams, product marketing, program management and peers in the applications engineering organization across multiple regions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Electrical Engineering degree preferred

  • 1 to 3 years of relevant system level Power Management IC experience

  • Expertise in interacting with cross functional HW and SW teams

  • Domain skills in Digital/Baseband and sound technical knowledge of Qualcomm PMICs are desirable

  • Familiarity with complex multi-layered PCB design, schematic, and layout

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, writing, and presentation skills

  • Self-motivated and works well with large interdisciplinary hardware teams

  • Flexible, self-starting and tenacious with initiative to resolve complex customer problems

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently transports between offices, buildings, and campuses up to ½ mile.

  • Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 5 lbs.

  • Performs required tasks at various heights (e.g., standing or sitting).

  • Monitors and utilizes computers and test equipment for more than 6 hours a day.

  • Continuous communication which includes the comprehension of information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person and remotely.
