General Summary:

Job Description

The infrastructure IP Team consists of a multi-disciplinary group involved in the definition and design of Platform infrastructure HW components implemented in all Qualcomm SoCs. This position primarily involves building cycle-accurate/approximate Performance models of the System Memory controller, System Cache and inline HW Accelerators. The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to refactor complex pseudo-accurate C++/System-C performance models; drive process automations; develop libraries, instrumentation; support IP and system level Performance debugs; Ability to partner effectively with IP designers, Design Verification teams and System performance architects.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.

OR

Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.

Key Deliverables:

• Refactor, develop and maintain performance models. Develop standard libraries to enhance code usability and readability

• Drive model development best practices, coding guidelines and process automations

• Conduct in-depth analysis of product requirement dashboards, CPU and GPU benchmarks to identify memory bottlenecks and areas for improvement.

• Demonstrates good understanding of and conducts research on industry trends and innovations in memory subsystem to ensure solutions and deliverables align with best practices.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of performance model development (or) relevant software development experience in C++ and a solid understanding of STL, templates, design patterns, data structures and test-driven development

• Proficient in one of the languages: C++, System C, Python with good handle of Object oriented programming and general SW debug (C++). Strong scripting skills (Perl/Python)

• The candidate should have ability to understand HW micro-architecture & its modeling abstraction.

• Experience with data analysis using Excel, R, Python etc is a bonus.

• Debugging and problem-solving skills. Ability to write clean, professional & maintainable code in C++.

• Experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment utilizing the efficiencies of an Agile and Iterate Fast mentality.

Pay range:

$143,000.00 - $215,000.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
