General Summary:

The Multimedia HW Power team has an exciting opportunity to lead a team that works on best-in-class technologies of Camera, Video encoding/decoding, and Computer Vision. These technologies are the heart of billions of Snapdragon devices used for Mobile, Automotive, IOT, AR/VR and Compute across the globe. The team is responsible for HW power architecture, IP/core power budgets, power estimation and optimization of all multimedia cores. We are looking for a Sr. Staff or above level Engineer with experience in low power HW design and expertise in Industry standard Power estimation and optimization tools. Your work will have the potential to shape the most power efficient devices in the globe, delivered to billions of Snapdragon users.

You will be leading a team of very talented engineers responsible for the following:

• Develop novel power optimized architecture design

• Work with the HW and SW teams to verify implementation of power features, and validate power at various design steps

• Work on Industry standard Power estimation and optimization tools such as Synposys PrimeTime PtPx, Ansys Power Artist, etc.

• Work with post Si teams to correlate power and verify if power target were met

• Work with vendors, developing and diagnosing methodologies for Power Tool and evaluating new power tools

• Prove support for multimedia cores power optimization and average/peak power estimation throughout the design cycle from pre RTL to post Silicon.

Key Qualifications

• BSEE with 10+ years of relevant experience, or MSEE with 8+ years of relevant experience

• Solid foundation in Electrical Systems Engineering, with the ability to work with various modeling tools at a detailed level

• Systems/HW background with a good understanding of microprocessor architecture and common SoC hardware blocks

• Good understanding of state of the art Industry standard Power estimation tools such as Synposys PrimeTime / Ansys Power Artist

• Good understanding of Synthesis and static timing analysis, physical design flow

• Good understanding of low power design techniques for power reduction, setting power target for HW cores, pre-Si power estimating, and post-Si power measurements

• Familiarity of SoC architectures and system-level design practices

• Familiarity with HW verification and synthesis tools is a plus

• Familiarity with Multi-media IPs (Camera/Video codecs/Computer Vision) is a plus

• Be able to Present, communicate and train low power design to others who may have limited knowledge of the subject in question

• The environment is fast-paced and requires daily cross-functional interaction. So good communication, planning and execution skills are a must

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.

OR

Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.

*Works in the lab, can use hazardous chemicals (e.g., glue, machinery).
