General Summary

Seeking a Staff Engineer to join the Corporate Release Engineering team in San Diego. The ideal candidate will work individually, and as part of a team, to develop database-driven web applications, project dashboards, and provide specialized scripts/tools/automation that will be used by engineering teams across the company. The ideal candidate is motivated, willing to learn/adopt new technologies, and strives to solve problems within a collaborative environment. Designing and implementing an end result that provides improvements/enhancements to new or existing applications/tools. Solutions will include unique methods to present data in various ways, including but not limited to, customized dashboards pulling from data from multiple inhouse systems, reporting features to improve project performance, and integrating challenging approaches for programs to be able to provide forecasting and other results.

The ideal candidate would have the following:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on development experience

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and organizational skills

  • Strong experience in scripting and automation (e.g., PHP, Javascript, Python).

  • Experience with multiple operating systems (e.g., Linux, Windows), Relational Databases, and SQL.

  • Linux command line knowledge and familiarity with web server and reverse proxy configurations such as nginx, apache, and tomcat.

  • Strong analysis, debugging, and problem solving skills.

  • Able to convey complex and detailed information to multiple audiences.

  • Exercising creativity in interpreting, gathering and fleshing out requirements and use-cases, as well as in troubleshooting technical problems and dealing with novel circumstances.

  • Lead regular meetings with projects/teams to discuss open issues/ technical solutions, give demos/presentations, determine use cases/requirements, address bugs/issues, and determine new action items.

  • Collaborate with individuals in multiple business domains.

  • Proactively communicate, track, and prioritize tasking in an organized, coherent manner.

  • Strong communication and documentation skills, willing to lead a small team, mentor/guide and train others.

  • Must be a team player, willing to grow and take on opportunities/challenges as they come up.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently transports between offices, buildings, and campuses up to ½ mile.

• Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 5 lbs.

• Performs required tasks at various heights (e.g., standing or sitting).

• Monitors and utilizes computers and test equipment for more than 6 hours a day.

• Continuous communication which includes the comprehension of information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person and remotely.

Minimum Qualifications


Bachelors - Computer Science, Bachelors - Engineering, Bachelors - Information Systems

Work Experiences:

2+ years experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

5+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience
