Qualcomm CAD Development Engineer - Sr Engineer to Staff level in San Diego, California

General Summary:

Join QCOM Technologies Inc Global CAD team delivering SoC design CAD Tools for leading-edge products. The position requires experienced CAD development Engineer to develop RTL2GDS implementation tools and flows for new methodologies of PPA and Sign-off in cutting edge process nodes.

This role’s responsibilities will include:

  • Develop CAD tools for optimization of Synthesis, Floorplan, Place and Route Sign-off, PDN analysis, ECO, and design closure

  • Develop tools and flows for Advanced process node PPA, QoR and design closure

  • Improve the SoC Implementation methodology for diverse Mobile, Compute, AI, IoT chips

  • Collaborate with core and SoC design team to develop solution for die planning, multi-die implementation and analysis

  • Collaboration with design teams

  • Interfacing with EDA vendors to enable production-ready tool sets that satisfy project’s requirement

Requirements:

  • Experience in CAD tool development algorithms

  • Hands on expertise in developing and maintaining large EDA software

  • Knowledge of Industry EDA tools and PPA optimization techniques

  • Strong logical and creative problem-solving skills with excellent analytical and debugging skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills with the ability to work independently

  • Highly motivated, excellent team spirit, product and customer oriented

  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of ASIC design, verification, or related work experience.

OR

Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 1+ years of ASIC design, verification, or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years CAD tools development for ASIC design, floorplan, place and route, signoff or related work experience

  • 2 + year of experience in advanced process technology.

  • 2+ years’ experience with architecture and design tools.

  • 2+ years’ hands-on experience with C++ and Python languages

Education Qualifications

  • Required: Master's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering with courses on CAD algorithms
