Enabling safe, comfortable, and affordable autonomous driving includes solving some of the most demanding and challenging technological problems. From centimeter-level localization to multimodal sensor perception, sensor fusion, behavior prediction, maneuver planning, and trajectory planning and control, each one of these functions introduces its own unique challenges to solve, verify, test, and deploy on the road.

We are looking for smart, innovative, and motivated individuals with strong SW background and programming experience in Python and C++. This position is, in the near-term, responsible for software development in a large-scale Python/C++ auto-labeling system for data from multiple sensors coming from our fleet of test vehicles. This auto-labeling system requires a high level of understanding about the world around the vehicle. To meet those needs, our team contributes state-of-the-art object, lane, and free space detection algorithms and software. Longer term, this position is planned to also include integrating some of these algorithms into the C++ drive stack. Job responsibilities include design, development, and testing of both Python and C++ software, with an emphasis on quality, automated testing, and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

• 2+ years of experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with automated (unit/integration/regression) testing

  • Experience with modern C++ (C++11 or higher)

  • Experience with multi-threaded / multi-core SW development and design

  • Experience with setting up, organizing, packaging, and testing large Python projects

  • Knowledge/experience on developing in Linux environments

  • Experience with safety critical software development/functional safety is a plus

Ideal candidate will have:

  • Familiarity with Python virtualenv-type tools

  • Familiarity with CMake and GTest

  • Experience with source code management tools such as git, git-lfs, github/gitlab

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work with a cross-functional team
