General Summary:

Responsibilities

• Driving solutions at scale that enable efficient operations, imaging, and configuration management of core network services and platform software for the large quantities of production Linux servers

• Linux OS configuration management

• Automated Server Image generation and imaging

• Automated large scale server remote deployment experience

• Partner and collaborate with various internal IT groups

• Virtual Machine and Container construction and management

• BIOS management

• New server platform evaluation

• Operational support & bugfixes for over 5,000 servers company wide

Skills

• Multiple years of experience in Linux OS concepts (Redhat preferred), distribution, configuration, and admin experience

• Demonstrated experience with Shell scripting

• Demonstrated experience with Python scripting

• Understand of the advanced OS imaging & the associated automation concepts like PXE, Kickstart

• Understanding of the advanced networking concepts like VLAN/LB/GSLB/Routing etc.

• Experience with developing RPMs

• Experience with Github/Code editors, Jenkins pipeline management.

• Experience with Docker containers and VMs is an added advantage.

• Experience with Build & Release management is an advantage.

• Experience in software development lifecycle & Devops.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.

• 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
