General Summary:

Job Description: As a Assoc DBA with QUALCOMM's IT department, you will provide leadership, team vision and direction in the appropriate application of database techniques to meet corporate information requirements.

Responsibilities include:

-Install, configure and upgrade Oracle Database Server software and related products

-Create, maintain and insure recoverability of SQL Server databases

-Allocate systems storage and develop plans for future storage requirements

-Establish effective database performance monitoring procedures

-Control and monitor user access to databases and maintain database security

-Provide reliable, recoverable and scalable database computing environments to store and integrate company data

-Responsible for 7x24 support of production databases and participate in oncall rotations

-Set up and maintain documentation and standards.

'-Trained & Certified in Oracle Database Administration or 1+ year Oracle Database administration experience working in a Unix environment.

Requirements include:

Trained & Certified in Oracle Database Administration

Experience & Knowledge in provisioning and implementation of database software

Knowledge of UNIX shell scripting

Knowledge in Oracle Backup & Recovery strategies

Good understanding of Unix Platforms

24/7 Support including weekend oncall in shift model

Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, meet project deadlines, and work under pressure.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
