Job Overview

The position will work with New Product Introduction and interface with Product Development teams to ensure that Product Quality and Reliability requirements are specified and met. This candidate will work with the extended QRE organization, Product and Test Engineering, and the Operations team to contain and disposition factory excursions and Non-Conforming product in a timely and cost effective manner. The position will ensure that all internal changes are properly documented, approved, and implemented.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the functional groups to coordinate the introduction of new products and ensure product manufacturability and quality with high yields and zero defects at outgoing shipments.

  • Represent Connectivity as necessary in PRB and CCB

  • Pre-production check list review and Gate review highlighting major product risk

  • Engage supplier and internal teams for qualification programs and excursion management.

  • Manage deliverables of NPI projects for QA and operations and ensure they are completed on time.

  • Implement ongoing quality improvement processes by working with internal and external parties on NCRs that require material disposition, drive action plans to completion, CAPA and MRB Driver

  • Drive supplier quality engineering in meeting product specification and process control requirements.

  • Monitor and report quality and compliance data for NPI projects.

  • Support and provide guidance to engineering on the quality assessment and potential risks of the NPI projects.

  • Evaluate new devices in terms of risk (use of new technology) & importance of the device (management and customer focus.) Attend and be an active advocate for quality in core team.

  • Summarize RMA activities to lessons learned lists and get them implemented during appropriate design and production cycle.

  • Specification preparation and review

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Applied Sciences, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

  • 2+ years Quality Engineering or Quality Assurance experience or related work experience.

  • 2+ years experience with data modeling in statistical software such as MS Excel, Minitab, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years experience as a Quality/Engineering function in semiconductor or related industry.

  • Hands on knowledge/application of quality tools, statistics and problem solving techniques.

  • Handset systems operation knowledge highly desirable.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the following soft skills: being proactive and taking initiative to drive issue resolution; having a teachable attitude; being a team player

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • ability to clearly organize and articulate information

  • persuasive skills to deal with selling difficult information.

  • Strong presentation skills. Handset systems understanding

  • high level understanding of the systems required to build a mobile device

  • high level understanding of the key components of the individual subsystems and how they are expected to interact

  • understanding what certain failure symptoms point to in terms of areas contributing to customer issues.

  • General understanding of full breadth of engineering skills to enable interaction with the variety of engineers that will be dealt with during the debug of an issue.

  • Fab and SAT hands on experience and ASQ certification are desirable

Education Requirements

Bachelor of Science in a related engineering field required, Masters preferred
