Minimum Qualifications:

Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field

field and 6+ years of CAD experience, EDA experience, or related work experience.


PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of CAD experience, EDA experience, or related work experience.

• 1+ years in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports.

About the role

Qualcomm Audio and Connectivity Engineering team is currently seeking an experienced CAD/EDA Engineer to support and enable design teams to develop next generation wireless and audio products.

Day-to-day responsibilities will typically include:

  • Development and support of Analog/Mixed Signal IC simulation methodologies and framework

  • Contributing to the direction and roadmap of infrastructure and design environment, for current and future processes.

  • Shared responsibility for developing software and methodologies which improve both the productivity and effectiveness of the design teams

  • Evaluate, develop and support new and existing tools for R&D designers to use in the development and testing of their designs, with opportunity to work on different aspects (both frontend and backend) of the design flow.

  • Develop regression tests in partnership with other team members and manage our release processes.

  • Provide prompt advice, recommendations and resolutions for designers if they encounter issues while using the design flow.

  • Support the test and release of the combinations of internal and third party software used by R&D designers.

  • Subdivide issues into steps to resolution and provide estimates for task duration.

  • Solve complex and varied problems quickly.

  • Share expertise with others and provide guidance and support.

  • Interface with other groups, for example PDK, IT & EDA vendors, as needed to assist in enhancing design productivity and improving overall framework.

  • Create relevant documentation, testcases and prioritize issues following the department’s processes.

  • Contribute towards the continuous development of the department’s processes.

What would make you stand out:

  • Experience in working with Analog/Mixed Signal flows and tools at nanometer-scale technologies

  • Excellent working knowledge of Cadence Virtuoso framework

  • Good coding ability in languages such as Perl, TCL, Python, Skill, Unix Shell

  • Knowledge of digital flows is beneficial

  • Experience with data management tools (e.g. DesignSync/Perforce) and compute grid tools (e.g. LSF) is beneficial

  • Proven track record of delivering complex tasks on schedule.
