Senior Legal Counsel/Sr.Director, Legal Counsel

Roles & Responsibilities
1.Manage the Corporate Legal team in China, and provide counseling to the SVP on major China legal and policy development, particularly in the areas of foreign investment, standards, IPR protection, anti-monopoly, cyber security, anti-corruption and unfair competition;
2.Support China BUs and Corporate Functions by providing legal advice, support and services with respect to contracts, leases, marketing activities and inter-company transactions;
3.Support the Companys external investment projects in China;
4.Support the effort to identify, prevent/minimize, and respond to legal risks with respect to various governmental enforcement actions such as anti-monopoly, unfair competition, false advertising, cyber security, import & export, immigration, workplace safety, etc.;
5.Support the effort to optimize the companys legal structure and operation in order to enable the maximum realization of business objectives;
6.Support the effort to increase awareness of Chinas employees about legal risks and issues.
At least 15 years of active legal practice experience, ideally with sufficient in-house practice time in the legal department of a multinational company;
Educated in both China and overseas in the faculty of law; be qualified to practice law in both China and another major foreign jurisdiction such as the U.S. or UK;
Must have expertise in mergers & acquisitions, corporate governance, anti-monopoly and IP;
Must have leadership skills, business sense and the ability to work with team;
Have strong communication skills in (oral and written) Chinese and English;
Prefer candidates who demonstrate drive and willingness to take initiative.
