To scale and strengthen our offering in this domain, Qualcomm XR team in Europe is rapidly expanding and seeking candidates to investigate and develop the fundamental perception systems enabling self-contained XR platforms. We look for innovators who will push the boundaries of mobile perception technology to offer a comprehensive platform to our customers.

Job Description

Qualcomm’s XR team is seeking XR Software Leads to lead a talented and innovative team developing the next generation of Augmented and Virtual reality (XR) technologies.

  • The XR Software Lead will drive the development of frameworks to enable perception and immersion services across multiple deployment architectures (All-In-One, Split configurations, cloud assisted, etc.), and provide hands-on engineering leadership through deployment and commercialization.

  • You must have a working knowledge of CV, AI, and Graphics pipelines in AR/VR, and a good understanding of factors to consider while deploying AR/VR products, such as latency, privacy, power and thermal limitations, and other usability requirements such as Motion To Photon latency, Motion to Render to Photon latency, etc.

  • You will work closely with XR algorithm developers to enhance the frameworks to enable a scalable and optimal deployment of XR algorithms.

  • Communications skills are key to success in this role, you must possess verbal and written skills that convey complex information to audiences with differing knowledge levels including high level internal constituents and have the ability to develop strong rapport and credibility to resolve conflicts and promote ideas persuasively and collaboratively.

  • You will work with product managers and program managers to drive product release requirements and schedules, negotiate, influence, and build consensus on priorities, and successfully drive implementation and deployment of perception and immersion features into the product.

  • You must be prepared to make decisions with imperfect information, know how to lead without authority and be comfortable managing in ambiguity, and complexity.

Skills/Experience

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

  • 7+ years Software Engineering or related work experience.

  • 1+ years experience leading global SW teams

  • 3+ years’ experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years’ experience as a AR/VR engineer deploying commercial grade software on head worn devices.

  • Deep knowledge of software architecture & design patterns

  • Knowledge of Khronos OpenXR specification a plus.
